(WNY News Now) – OLEAN, N.Y. — A structure fire broke out at 119 S. Sixth St. on Thursday morning, prompting a swift response from the City of Olean Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched at 11:30 a.m. on February 27 and arrived on the scene within minutes to find heavy smoke billowing from multiple sides of the residence. Crews deployed three hose lines and worked to locate and extinguish the flames on the first floor and in the basement.
No civilian injuries were reported, but two firefighters were treated for minor injuries sustained during the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Assisting agencies included the Olean Police Department, Portville and Allegany Fire Departments, while Trans Am handled ambulance calls in the city. Hinsdale, Allegany, and the Town of Olean Fire Department were on standby.
