(WNY News Now) – Lockport, NY – A 22-year-old Lockport man was arrested early Friday morning following a high-speed vehicle pursuit that ended in his apprehension on foot.

At approximately 12:51 a.m. on February 28, 2025, Deputy Bull was assisting the City of Lockport Police with a shots fired investigation when he noticed a vehicle operating without headlights in the area. As the deputy attempted to follow, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, prompting a pursuit through the City of Lockport.

The suspect, later identified as Ronald D. Timmerman Jr., eventually abandoned the vehicle on Center Street and attempted to flee on foot. He was quickly apprehended.

Timmerman faces multiple charges, including:

  • Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) (Misdemeanor)
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Above .08% BAC (Misdemeanor)
  • Unlawful Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle (Misdemeanor)
  • Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)
  • Resisting Arrest (Misdemeanor)
  • Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd (Misdemeanor)

He was also cited for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.

Due to New York State’s bail reform laws, Timmerman was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Lockport City Court. His vehicle was impounded. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
