(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A Jamestown woman was taken into custody following a stabbing incident on the city’s west side Wednesday morning.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon responded to a reported stabbing at approximately 10:57 a.m. on March 5. Upon investigation, authorities determined that Vanessa M. Braun, 43, engaged in a domestic dispute and stabbed a male victim twice in the neck with a knife. The victim sustained serious injuries as a result.

Braun was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Further investigation revealed that she had also allegedly threatened to kill two other individuals.

Braun has been charged with first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree aggravated harassment. She is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
