(WNY News Now) – DUNKIRK, NY – A house fire at 410 Robin Street in the City of Dunkirk on Thursday was determined to be accidental, authorities confirmed.

At approximately 4:43 p.m. on March 6, 2025, the Dunkirk Fire Department, with assistance from mutual aid fire departments, responded to the residential blaze. Fire crews worked to contain and extinguish the flames, preventing further damage to surrounding properties.

Following suppression efforts, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was called to determine the fire’s origin and cause. Investigators concluded that the fire resulted from the improper disposal of smoking materials.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. Officials urge residents to exercise caution when handling and discarding smoking materials to prevent similar incidents.
