(WNY News Now) – SILVER CREEK, N.Y. – A Silver Creek woman is facing charges following an investigation into the fraudulent use of a check, authorities reported.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division launched an inquiry on January 24, 2025, which led to the discovery that Marissa J. Moquin, 29, allegedly wrote and deposited a check that did not belong to her.

On March 11, 2025, Moquin was issued appearance tickets for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Third Degree and Petit Larceny. She is scheduled to appear in Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
