(WNY News Now) – Park School of Buffalo’s Girls Varsity Basketball team made history this weekend by securing their first-ever New York State CHSAA Championship title, while the Boys Varsity team fought hard in the NYCHSAA Championship final.
Amherst, NY, – The Park School of Buffalo girls traveled to New York City this weekend to play the Notre Dame School of Manhattan for the Girls New York State CHSAA championship title. With a close game throughout, the Park team made a great comeback in the fourth quarter with a foul shot made by senior Jada Briggs to secure the score of 39-35 with 12 seconds left in the game. Park rebounded a three-pointer missed by Notre Dame, ending the game with a win.


Finishing the regular season as co-champions with a record of 13-9, the Girls Park team beat Mount St. Mary Academy of Buffalo in the MMHSAA (Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association) Division B Championship, leading them to play for the state title. The team worked extremely hard all season long and should be extremely proud to claim the First Girls State Championship title for The Park School of Buffalo, finishing the season 16-9. Park seniors Amarie Berrios and Alana Wilson also made the 2025 MMHSAA Girls Division B All Catholic Team.
The Boys Varsity Basketball team also made it to the Boys NYCHSAA Championship game in New York City, making the trek to play against Sacred Heart High School of Yonkers. Unfortunately, Park lost with a final score of 76-57, but not without extraordinary effort throughout the entire game.
Finishing the regular season with a record of 14-14, the Boys Park team beat St. Mary’s of Lancaster with a final score of 65-59, also claiming the MMHSAA Championship. Park juniors Elijah Greene and Kameron Barge also made the 2025 MMHSAA Boys All Catholic Team.
