(WNY News Now) – Ellicott, NY – A routine traffic stop in the early hours of Sunday led to the arrest of a Kiantone man on multiple driving while intoxicated (DWI) charges.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies pulled over a vehicle at approximately 1:41 a.m. on March 16, 2025, in the Town of Ellicott after observing a traffic violation. The driver, identified as 54-year-old Kevin C. McChesney of Kiantone, was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Following an investigation, deputies charged McChesney with Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, DWI, and DWI Per Se. He was taken into custody, processed, and later released with appearance tickets. McChesney is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
