(WNY News Now) – FREDONIA, NY – A Mayville man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the Village of Fredonia early Sunday morning.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 20 at approximately 1:53 a.m. on March 16, 2025, after observing a traffic violation. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Herman J. Harrington 3rd, was determined to be intoxicated following an investigation.

Harrington was taken into custody and transported to a Sheriff’s Office substation for processing. He was charged with DWI, DWI Per Se, and Speed in Zone. Harrington was issued citations and is scheduled to appear in Village of Fredonia Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
