(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after officers responded to reports of suspicious activity involving a stolen motorcycle.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the First Platoon were dispatched at approximately 6:47 AM on March 19 to investigate a male pushing a motorcycle between houses and through backyards on the city’s north side. Police located the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Bobby R. Mount, on Stowe Street.
An investigation determined the motorcycle had been stolen from a hotel in the Town of Ellicott. Mount was arrested and transported to Jamestown City Jail. During the arrest, officers found him in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, drug packaging materials, and a dagger-type weapon.
Mount is facing multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of Stolen Property (4th degree), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (3rd and 7th degrees), Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia (2nd degree), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon (3rd degree).
He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. Authorities say additional charges from the Town of Ellicott Police Department are expected.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
