(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A 36-year-old Jamestown man was arrested on March 20, 2025, following a domestic dispute that resulted in charges of criminal contempt and resisting arrest.

At approximately 10:33 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to an East Side address after reports of a domestic altercation. Upon arrival, officers heard Bruce J. Miles yelling with a female victim inside the residence. Miles was confirmed to be in violation of an active Stay Away Order of Protection, which had been issued to protect the victim.

Officers spoke with the victim, who confirmed that Miles was inside the residence. Police entered the home and located Miles hiding in a bedroom. When officers attempted to arrest him, Miles resisted, refusing to comply with commands. A brief struggle ensued, but Miles was eventually taken into custody.

Miles was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending his arraignment at the Jamestown City Court.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
