(WNY News Now) – A structure fire in the Town of Ellicott has been ruled accidental after an electrical issue caused the blaze in a residential kitchen ceiling.
At approximately 7:21 PM on March 24, 2025, the Celoron Fire Department, alongside several mutual aid units, responded to a call for a reported structure fire at 22 Columbia Avenue in the Town of Ellicott. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, ensuring the fire did not spread further.
Following the fire’s suppression, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was dispatched to the scene to determine the fire’s origin and cause. According to investigators, the fire originated in the ceiling of the kitchen and was caused by an electrical malfunction.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
