(WNY News Now) – Jamestown BPU’s Yard Waste Site will reopen for Saturday drop-offs starting April 12, requiring a new 2025 sticker for residential access.

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) Yard Waste Site for residential Solid Waste customers begins 2025 Saturday hours on April 12, at 1001 Monroe Street in the City. A new 2025 Yard Waste Site sticker is required to enter the Site.

The Yard Waste Site’s hours this year are as follows: 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturdays, April 12 through November 8; and 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesdays, effective May 7 through September 24.

The Yard Waste Site is restricted to BPU Solid Waste residential customers, as their garbage/recycling rate pays for Site operations. BPU Solid Waste customers who want to enter the Site must display a yellow-colored 2025 BPU Yard Waste Site sticker on the rear driver-side window of the vehicle.

The window stickers are free-of-charge to BPU Solid Waste residential customers. Only one sticker is provided for each customer account.
The window stickers are available at the BPU Customer Service Office, 92 Steele Street, open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays and 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursdays-Fridays. The office is closed daily from 1-2 p.m. and is closed on Good Friday, April 18. Contractors will not be permitted to use the site.

The window stickers allow BPU employees who staff the Site to identify BPU Solid Waste residential customers and ensure that non-BPU Solid Waste customers do not use the Site.

At the Site, customers may discard leaves, grass clippings, mulch, plants/shrubs/bushes; tree parts and brush up to eight inches in diameter. Metals, sod, concrete, rocks, dirt, lumber/wood, tires, drywall and other construction materials are not accepted.
