(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A Jamestown man was taken into custody early Saturday morning on multiple felony charges following a domestic dispute involving forced entry, property damage, and multiple violations of protection orders.

Authorities responded to a physical domestic incident around 1:00 a.m. on March 29 on the city’s South Side. Officers arrived to find 38-year-old Silk E. Spencer allegedly attempting to force his way into a residence by breaking the door. Spencer was also engaged in a physical altercation with an individual who had an active stay-away order of protection against him.

Spencer was immediately taken into custody. During their investigation, officers determined that Spencer had caused property damage while trying to gain entry. Additionally, three children under the age of six witnessed the incident and were visibly distressed.

Further inquiries revealed that Spencer had a separate order of protection barring him from contact with two of the children inside the residence. The resident also reported receiving multiple threatening messages from Spencer regarding harm to her and her property.

Spencer faces multiple charges, including three counts of Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree (felony), three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree (felony), Aggravated Harassment in the 2nd Degree, and Attempted Burglary in the 2nd Degree (felony).

He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
