(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – A federal grand jury has indicted Michael R. Prell, Jr., also known as “Struggle Mike,” 43, of Buffalo, on multiple drug charges, U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced.
Prell is charged with narcotics conspiracy and attempted possession of five kilograms or more of cocaine with intent to distribute. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 20 years in prison, with a maximum sentence of life.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani, between early 2024 and September 26, 2024, Prell allegedly conspired with others to distribute cocaine. Authorities also claim that on August 1, September 25, and September 26, 2024, he attempted to obtain large quantities of the drug for distribution.
Prell was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and was released under specific conditions.
The indictment follows an investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarantino III, and the New York State Police, under Major Amie P. Feroleto.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
