(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man was taken into custody Monday evening after attempting to flee from officers conducting a warrant check.

On March 31, 2025, at approximately 5:29 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a south side residence to execute an active arrest warrant for Scott F. Wynn, 50.

As officers attempted to make contact inside the residence, Wynn fled on foot, prompting a brief pursuit. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. In addition to the existing petit larceny arrest warrant, authorities discovered that Wynn was also wanted by New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) on a parole warrant. He now faces an additional Resisting Arrest charge.

Wynn was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
