(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown woman was arrested on Thursday afternoon for driving while impaired and drug possession following a police response to a vehicle complaint on the city’s east side.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:51 p.m. on April 3, 2025, after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found Michelle Wasson, 47, slumped over behind the wheel.
Police determined Wasson was operating the vehicle in an impaired condition and was also found in possession of heroin. She was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
Wasson was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. She was later released to a sober party with an appearance ticket for Jamestown City Court.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
