(WNY News Now) – A Portville man was hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash that left a pickup truck airborne before striking an embankment and fence.

PORTVILLE — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious crash that occurred on March 29, 2025, in the Town of Portville involving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.

At approximately 6:41 p.m., deputies responded to reports of an advanced life support motor vehicle accident (ALS MVA) in the area of 1153 Portville Obi Road. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the driver, identified as Allen W. Harris Sr., had lost control of the vehicle.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Silverado veered off the roadway into a ditch, became airborne, and subsequently crashed into an earth embankment and a fence.

Harris Sr. sustained injuries in the crash and was transported by Portville EMS to Olean General Hospital for medical treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and no additional injuries were reported.









As of this report, charges are pending further investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
