(WNY News Now) – Two people were arrested on Monday evening following a fight on the north side involving a baby.
Jamestown, N.Y. At approximately 6:27 p.m. on April 7, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a report of a fight on the north side of the city. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that Illinois D. Jackson, a 21-year-old Jamestown resident, had become disorderly and shoved one of the victims while they were holding a baby. During the incident, Jackson also threatened another victim.
Officers quickly identified Jackson as a suspect and responded to a nearby location where he was found. When officers attempted to take him into custody, Jackson resisted, leading to a brief struggle before he was apprehended and transported to the city jail.
Makhai A. Sheehan, a 20-year-old Jamestown resident, was also present at the scene and interfered with officers’ efforts to arrest Jackson. Sheehan was subsequently arrested for obstructing governmental administration and was released with an appearance ticket.
Jackson faces charges including two counts of harassment in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and resisting arrest. He is currently being held in the city jail pending his arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
Sheehan has been charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and was booked before being released.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
