(WNY News Now) – A 24-year-old Jamestown man was arrested after a brief foot pursuit with officers following a shoplifting incident at Dollar General on Winsor Street late Monday night.
Jamestown, N.Y. – At approximately 9:55 PM on April 7, 2025, officers from the Second Platoon responded to a call reporting a shoplifting at the Dollar General store. Authorities say the suspect, later identified as Justice W. Mcbride, was seen taking items from the store before fleeing the scene on foot.
Officers quickly located Mcbride in the vicinity, but when they attempted to apprehend him, he led them on a short chase. A struggle ensued before officers were able to subdue Mcbride and take him into custody. One officer sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Mcbride has been charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Burglary in the Third Degree, Petit Larceny, and Assault in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
