(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, NY — Yasir S. Creach, 44, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of Aggravated Harassment of a Judge, a Class “E” felony, in Erie County Court. The plea, entered before Judge Sheila A. DiTullio, follows Creach’s actions while serving a jail sentence at the Erie County Correctional Facility.

On February 24, 2025, Creach sent a threatening letter to a Cheektowaga Town Court Justice, who had sentenced him to 90 days in jail earlier that month after his conviction for Attempted Petit Larceny. The letter, intended to harass the judge, placed both the victim and his family in reasonable fear of harm.
Creach’s conviction marks the first time someone has been charged and convicted under New York State’s “Aggravated Harassment of a Judge” statute, which was introduced as part of the 2024 state budget. The law, effective July 19, 2024, makes it a crime to threaten a judge or their family with the intent to cause fear of harm.
Creach faces up to four years in prison when sentenced on May 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. He is currently being held without bail. A temporary order of protection remains in effect for the victim.
The case was investigated by the Cheektowaga Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan E. Mahoney of the Felony Trials Bureau.
