(WNY News Now) – Johnathon Robert Martinez, 21, was arrested on April 9, 2025, for assault and criminal obstruction following a domestic dispute on the East Side.

Jamestown, N.Y. – At approximately 4:59 AM on April 9, 2025, officers with the Jamestown Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at an East Side residence. Upon arrival, police determined that 21-year-old Johnathon Robert Martinez had assaulted the victim, applying pressure to their neck and causing difficulty breathing for a brief period of time. Martinez also bit the victim on the shoulder, resulting in a physical injury.

Following an investigation at the scene, Martinez was placed under arrest and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He is facing charges of third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Martinez remains in custody pending his arraignment at Jamestown City Court.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
