(WNY News Now) – A 41-year-old Jamestown resident was taken into custody following a street check that led to multiple charges, including drug possession and resisting arrest.

JAMESTOWN – On April 10, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon conducted a street check on the city’s south side that resulted in the arrest of 41-year-old Tyler A. Perez.

Officers observed Perez exiting a business and recognized him from a felony warrant issued by Jamestown City Court. When approached, Perez fled on foot. A brief pursuit followed, during which Perez allegedly attempted to dispose of illegal narcotics.

After being apprehended, Perez was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Resisting Arrest. These charges are in addition to the outstanding felony warrant.

Perez is currently being held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
