(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of two individuals after officers recovered a ghost gun and high-capacity magazine.
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – On Thursday, April 10, 2025, at approximately 3:04 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of Falconer Street and Thayer Street for observed traffic violations.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 20-year-old Caden L. Barrett and 19-year-old Airianna A. Parkhurst, both residents of Falconer.
During the course of the investigation, officers searched the vehicle and discovered an unregistered handgun equipped with a large-capacity ammunition feeding device. Authorities later confirmed that the firearm was a ghost gun—a weapon without a serial number, making it difficult to trace.
Barrett and Parkhurst were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Both individuals were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree for the high-capacity magazine, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree for possession of a ghost gun.
The suspects are currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
