(WNY News Now) – A Lakewood man, Edwin V. Gibbon IV, was arrested early Sunday morning after a vehicle stop in downtown Jamestown revealed multiple charges, including drug possession and driving with a revoked license.

On April 13, 2025, at approximately 4:47 AM, Jamestown Police officers encountered a suspicious vehicle parked in the downtown area with its engine running. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers found 40-year-old Edwin V. Gibbon IV slumped over the steering wheel. After knocking on the window, Gibbon woke up and identified himself.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Gibbon had an outstanding bench warrant from Jamestown City Court. Further checks indicated that his driver’s license had been revoked. As a result, officers arrested Gibbon without incident and transported him to the Jamestown City Jail.

In addition to the bench warrant, Gibbon was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. He was also issued uniform traffic tickets for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, operating a vehicle without an interlock device, and for the violation of no stopping, standing, or parking regulations.

Gibbon was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
