(WNY News Now) – A Florida man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested in Jamestown Tuesday night following a motor vehicle accident.

JAMESTOWN – A 25-year-old Florida man was taken into custody late Tuesday after being identified as a fugitive from justice during a motor vehicle accident investigation.

At approximately 11:04 p.m. on April 15, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s third platoon responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of North Main Street and West 3rd Street.

The pedestrian, later identified as Tyler T. Dalton, sustained minor injuries in the incident. He was treated at UPMC Chautauqua and subsequently released.

During the investigation, a routine check of Dalton’s name through dispatch revealed an active felony warrant out of Sarasota County, Florida. Dalton was determined to be a fugitive from justice and was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
