(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man was taken into custody early Thursday morning following a warrant check that led to a charge of resisting arrest.
JAMESTOWN, NY – On April 17, 2025, at approximately 2:31 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a Southside residence to conduct a warrant check.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that 40-year-old Darren K. Mushat, a Jamestown resident, was upstairs inside the home. Mushat had confirmed active bench warrants issued by Jamestown City Court.
Police made several verbal announcements instructing Mushat to come downstairs, but he failed to comply. Officers then made forced entry into an upstairs room where Mushat was located and taken into custody without further incident.
In addition to the bench warrant, Mushat was charged with resisting arrest. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
