(WNY News Now) – A Dunkirk woman faces felony charges after allegedly selling collectible art without the owner’s permission from a rental property in the Town of Portland.
PORTLAND, NY – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Dunkirk woman with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree following an investigation into a larceny complaint reported on April 7, 2025.
Deputies responded at approximately 10:24 a.m. to a residence on Route 380 in the Town of Portland for a past tense larceny. According to the investigation, Angela K. Szukala, 53, of Dunkirk, allegedly sold several collectible art items that belonged to the property owner without consent. Authorities estimate the total value of the missing property to be approximately $25,000.
Szukala, who was renting the residence at the time of the alleged theft, was subsequently charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a felony offense under New York State law.
She was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Portland Court at a later date. No further information has been released at this time. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
