(WNY News Now) – A 21-year-old Olean resident was taken into custody by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office after being found impaired by drugs during a suspicious vehicle investigation in Linn Park.
PORTVILLE, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gage D. Lisek, 21, of Olean, in the early morning hours of Friday, May 2, 2025, following a suspicious vehicle complaint at Linn Park’s boat launch area.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 3:00 a.m. and made contact with Lisek, the sole occupant and operator of the vehicle in question. Upon further investigation, deputies administered multiple standardized field sobriety tests. Based on the results, Lisek was determined to be driving while ability impaired by drugs (DWAI-Drugs).
Lisek was transported to the Olean Police Department where a Datamaster chemical test was conducted. He was then taken to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Olean Substation for a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) evaluation.
Following standard procedures, Lisek was processed and brought to Olean General Hospital for a blood draw to confirm substance impairment.
He was released with uniform traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Portville Court at a later date for further legal proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
