(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening another individual with a knife Sunday morning.

On May 18, 2025, at approximately 9:47 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon responded to a report of a man armed with a knife on the city’s east side.

Upon arrival, officers located three male individuals standing on the sidewalk. Following an on-scene investigation, police identified 39-year-old Edgardo C. Marquez, a Jamestown resident, as the suspect.

According to authorities, Marquez allegedly threatened one of the individuals with a knife. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Marquez has been charged with Menacing in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D felony.

He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
