(WNY News Now) – Joseph A. Snyder, 40, of Jamestown, faces petit larceny charges following an April 30 incident involving suspicious behavior and an outstanding arrest warrant.

The Town of Ellicott Police Department reported that on April 30, 2025, officers responded to a complaint regarding a man allegedly observed looking into house windows and backyards within the city limits. The individual was later identified as Joseph A. Snyder, 40, of Jamestown.

Upon identification, Jamestown Police Department officers confirmed that Snyder had an active arrest warrant issued by the Town of Ellicott. Snyder was detained by Jamestown officers while Ellicott Police responded to the scene.

Snyder was transported to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, where he was processed and subsequently released with an Appearance Ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott court at a later date to address the petit larceny charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
