(WNY News Now) – A Dunkirk man was arrested on May 21 for allegedly violating a stay-away order of protection at a Main Street business.
The Dunkirk Police Department has charged 49-year-old Thomas Majkowski with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree after officers responded to a trespassing complaint on May 21 at approximately 3:19 p.m.
According to police, the call came from a workplace located near the intersection of Main Street and East 4th Street, where the complainant reported that Majkowski had entered the premises in direct violation of an active stay-away order of protection.
Officers from the 3–11 shift located Majkowski shortly after the report, finding him across the street from the business. He was taken into custody without incident, processed at the Dunkirk Police Department, and issued an appearance ticket to return to court.
Majkowski is scheduled to appear before Hon. Judge John Kuzdale on the charge of Criminal Contempt 2nd (Penal Law 215.50(3)). Following processing, he was also turned over to the New York State Police due to an outstanding warrant. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
