(WNY News Now) – An 18-year-old from Brocton is facing multiple charges after allegedly making a false report and committing several traffic violations in the Town of Arkwright.
ARKWRIGHT, NY — On May 22, 2025, at approximately 10:54 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported incident in the Town of Arkwright. Following an investigation, 18-year-old James H. Carter Jr. of Brocton was identified as the individual involved.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Carter falsely reported a crime while also committing a series of vehicle and traffic infractions.
Carter was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor. Deputies also issued multiple traffic citations, including Moving from Lane Unsafely, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, and Improper License Plates.
Carter was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Arkwright Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
