(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A routine traffic stop on the evening of May 22 led to the arrest of two individuals on drug and warrant charges following a narcotics investigation at the corner of Forest Avenue and Hazeltine Avenue.

Around 8:00 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon conducted a stop on a silver 2006 Ford Focus. The vehicle’s occupants, identified as Christopher J. Light and Aimee L. Hogg, were found to have active warrants.

During the encounter, Christopher Light admitted to possessing fentanyl on his person. Both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. A subsequent inventory search revealed additional quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Light was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. Both he and Hogg are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court on their respective warrants. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
