(WNY News Now) – On May 20, 2025, Jamestown Police took Marquan D. Cunningham-Carper into custody following a street check and executed a search warrant at his Columbia Avenue residence, uncovering fentanyl pills, prescription drugs, weapons, and other evidence.
Jamestown, NY — At approximately 1:40 p.m. on May 20, 2025, members of the Jamestown Police Department conducted a street check on 19-year-old Jamestown resident Marquan D. Cunningham-Carper outside Pronto Mart at 631 Newland Avenue. Cunningham-Carper was taken into custody on an existing arrest warrant for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

During the encounter, officers observed Cunningham-Carper discarding a bag containing roughly 4.25 ounces of fentanyl pills. Following this, law enforcement obtained a search warrant for Cunningham-Carper’s residence at 15 Columbia Avenue Lower Apartment.

The Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, and Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team executed the warrant. Officers entered the apartment without locating any other individuals. The search led to the seizure of additional controlled substances, including Lorazepam pills, digital scales, cutting agents, approximately $550 in cash, multiple cell phones, a .38 Special revolver, and a high-capacity pistol magazine.
In addition to the original arrest warrant, Cunningham-Carper faces multiple charges including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second, Third, and Seventh Degrees, two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second and Third Degrees.
The investigation involved coordinated efforts from the Jamestown Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department, and Jamestown Fire Department.
