(WNY News Now) – A late-night patrol in Jamestown led to the arrest of a 27-year-old woman wanted on a bench warrant and now facing a drug possession charge.
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — On May 28, 2025, at approximately 11:28 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon conducted a street check in the area of Forest Avenue and Terrace Place, resulting in the arrest of a Jamestown woman on drug-related charges.
According to police, officers observed a Jamestown City Code violation involving two individuals on an electric bicycle. During the stop, one of the subjects was identified as 27-year-old Morgan E. Ryder of Jamestown.
Further investigation revealed that Ryder was wanted on an active warrant from Jamestown City Court for failure to appear. She was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
While searching Ryder, officers discovered a small quantity of methamphetamine on her person. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Ryder is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
