(WNY News Now) – A multi-agency narcotics investigation in Dunkirk led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of crack cocaine, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
DUNKIRK, NY — A five-month investigation into suspected narcotics activity culminated in a search warrant executed by Dunkirk Police and Chautauqua County narcotics investigators at 130 Townsend Street on May 29, 2025, at approximately 5:25 p.m.
During the search of the upper apartment, police found 47-year-old Yajaira Herrera-Hernandez and two minor children. Investigators seized 4.87 grams of crack cocaine, packaging materials, digital scales, and $645 in cash. Herrera-Hernandez was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd and 4th Degrees, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
While officers were still conducting the search, 32-year-old Chastity Martinez arrived at the residence to pick up one of the children. She was arrested on an active warrant for Gang Assault in the 2nd Degree.
Shortly after, officers located 20-year-old Antony J. Alvarez, who also had a warrant for Gang Assault in the 2nd Degree. At the time of arrest, Alvarez was allegedly in possession of over 4 grams of crack cocaine and $90 in cash. He now faces additional charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd and 4th Degrees.



All three individuals were transported to the Dunkirk Police Department and were scheduled to be arraigned in Dunkirk City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Authorities are encouraging the public to report drug-related activity.
