(WNY News Now) – Jamestown police apprehended a local man with active arrest warrants and discovered drugs in his possession during a street check on the city’s east side.
On the evening of June 17, 2025, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon conducted a street check near the intersection of Falconer Street and Thayer Street. Officers observed a man riding an electric scooter who they recognized as 47-year-old Jamestown resident Brock D. Tyrrell.
Police were aware that Tyrrell had active arrest warrants issued by the Jamestown Police Department. Officers instructed Tyrrell to stop, and he complied. After confirming the warrants through dispatch, officers placed him under arrest.
A search incident to the arrest revealed that Tyrrell was in possession of Suboxone films, a controlled substance, which did not belong to him. As a result, Tyrrell was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree in addition to the existing warrants.
Tyrrell was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
