(WNY News Now) – A late-night traffic stop in Olean resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man wanted on an active bench warrant and cited for several vehicle and traffic violations.

On June 18, 2025, at approximately 11:43 p.m., Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on N. 10th Street in the City of Olean. The driver, identified as Casey R. Gilcrease of Olean, was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and no valid insurance. Additionally, the vehicle was uninspected, and Gilcrease was allegedly driving with a suspended license.

During the stop, deputies discovered an active bench warrant for Gilcrease issued by the Village of Allegany Police Department. He was taken into custody and transported to the Village of Allegany Police Department, where he was turned over to their custody.

Gilcrease was issued uniform traffic tickets for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, Operating an Uninspected Motor Vehicle, and Operating Without Insurance. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
