(WNY News Now) – Yeti Greenery, previously known as Yeti Vape, recently spoke to WNY News Now about their remarkable transition into an adult-use cannabis dispensary after receiving their cannabis license from the state.

Jamestown, N.Y. – WNY News Now recently sat down with Yeti Greenery co-founders Brian Ellis and his son Brandon Ellis, along with senior employee Matthew Recktenwald, to shed light on the newest cannabis dispensary in Jamestown.

Located in the Farm Fresh Plaza on 3rd Street in Jamestown, the location was previously known as Yeti Vape, which they operated for 11 years, first opening in 2014. Following New York State’s legalization of cannabis, they submitted an application for a cannabis license in October 2023, viewing the burgeoning cannabis market as a new opportunity.

However, when New York State implemented a lottery system for license approvals, Yeti Greenery’s application was pulled towards the end of the queue, resulting in an 18-month wait for receiving their license.

While they would have liked to received approval earlier, the wait gave them the opportunity to observe other dispensaries and find ways to improve their own dispensary when the time came to ensure that they were set up for success.

One aspect of business that Yeti Greenery is dedicated to is providing fantastic customer service regardless of how much customers spend with them.

“I think the biggest thing about us is that I don’t care if you walk through my door and spend $5 with me or if you spend $200 with me, I’m going to treat you the same.” Brandon stated. “I want to sell you the best quality weed at the best price and build a relationship… I’ve got something for everybody, whatever tax bracket you’re in.”

When it comes to product, Yeti Greenery is focused on providing consumers with both high quality big brands while also tapping into some hidden gems from other cultivators in the state, which has resulted in noticeably positive feedback since their opening on June 9.

“There are so many cultivators and so many processors in the State of New York that we wanted to give people a choice where ‘Hey, I haven’t necessarily seen this locally. Let’s try this here.’” Brian said.

Yeti Greenery’s interactive display case and informative screens

One of the most innovative aspects of Yeti Greenery’s implementation is their interactive display. When customers enter the store, they are greeted by a display case in the center showcasing up to 40 strains of cannabis. Each container has magnification glass on the top, so visitors can get a clearer look at the product, as well as being able to smell the strain before deciding to make a purchase.

To help customers better understand their products, they also have 4 screens mounted to the walls that provide information about the products, such as it’s position on the Sativa-Indica spectrum, THC percentage, price, etc.

Yeti Greenery also has a website, https://www.yetigreenery.com/, as well as a mobile app for both iOS and Android, where viewers can get a realtime inventory for the dispensary as well as place orders. Customers can either place the order to pay in-store or prepay on the app and come to the dispensary for pickup. They do require identification for purchases in compliance with New York State law.

Yeti Greenery, located at 607 W. 3rd Street in Jamestown, NY, is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. They normally are either closed or have shortened hours on major holidays, like the 4th of July this Friday, when they will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Viewers can contact them at 716-543-YETI (9384).

Yeti Greenery marks another exciting new enterprise in the community, and we look forward to seeing where the future takes them.
