(WNY News Now) – A Dunkirk man and a juvenile female were charged following a shoplifting complaint at a business on Lake Shore Drive West Monday evening.

DUNKIRK, N.Y. – On June 23, 2025, at approximately 8:47 p.m., officers from the Dunkirk Police Department responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business located on Lake Shore Drive West.

According to the police report, a male suspect allegedly stole multiple items and fled the store. Based on a description provided by store staff, officers quickly located the individual nearby and identified him as Christopher S. Stercula, 36, of Dunkirk.

Police say Stercula was found in possession of several unpaid-for items belonging to the business. A juvenile female was also reportedly involved in the incident.

Both Stercula and the juvenile face charges of Petit Larceny (PL 155.25) and Trespass (PL 140.05). They were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
