(WNY News Now) – A 50-year-old Dunkirk man was arrested following a late-night domestic incident that led to charges of criminal mischief and unlawful imprisonment.
DUNKIRK, NY — On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at approximately 11:51 p.m., officers from the Dunkirk Police Department responded to a domestic dispute on Moffat Street.
According to police, upon arrival officers made contact with the involved individuals and determined that the suspect, identified as Javier A. Colon, 50, of Dunkirk, had thrown the victim’s personal property, obstructed her attempt to call 911, and physically prevented her from leaving the residence.
Colon was taken into custody without incident and transported to Dunkirk Police Headquarters. He was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree under Penal Law 145.00(4), and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree under Penal Law 135.05.
Colon was held for arraignment and later released pending further court proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
