Deputies arrest 33-year-old Kevin M. Stafford Jr. for multiple charges after reported altercation in Cold Spring

(WNY News Now) – COLD SPRING, N.Y. — A Cold Spring man is facing multiple charges following a reported domestic incident late Tuesday evening, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute involving a male and female on Old Route 17 in the Town of Cold Spring on July 1, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled.

An investigation led deputies to locate and arrest Kevin M. Stafford Jr., 33, of Cold Spring, who was charged with attempted assault in the second degree, aggravated family offense, and criminal contempt in the first degree.

Stafford Jr. was processed at the sheriff’s office and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Cold Spring Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
