(WNY News Now) – Two Jamestown residents face multiple charges after police discovered two children and a dog living in deplorable conditions during a welfare check.

JAMESTOWN – On July 10, 2025, at approximately 5:05 p.m., Jamestown Police responded to a residence on the city’s South Side to conduct a welfare check involving two small children and a dog.

Upon arrival, officers from the department’s second platoon found both the children and the dog living in what authorities described as “deplorable conditions.” The children and the animal were reportedly under the care of Tyler Cahill, 27, and Christina Forest, 33, both residents of Jamestown.

Following the investigation, Cahill and Forest were taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Each has been charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of Overdriving, Torturing, and Injuring Animals; Failure to Provide Sustenance.

Both individuals are currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
