Police say suspect pushed victim to the ground multiple times during argument witnessed by toddler
(WNY News Now) – WESTFIELD, NY — A 24-year-old Westfield man was arrested following a domestic dispute that occurred on July 9, 2025 on Route 20, where a physical altercation reportedly took place in the presence of a child.
According to the Westfield Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at the residence. An investigation revealed that Levi A. Cross was involved in a verbal argument with a female victim that escalated when he allegedly pushed her to the ground multiple times. The incident reportedly occurred in front of a 3-year-old child.

Police say Cross fled the scene before officers arrived. He was later located on July 10, 2025, during a separate incident at the same address. Officers executed an arrest warrant and took Cross into custody without further incident.
Cross was charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Harassment in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Program (CAP). As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
