Jamestown Police Charge Woman Following Early Morning Incident on Southside

(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A 49-year-old Jamestown woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening a neighbor with a knife during an early morning incident on July 17, 2025.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon responded to a report of harassment at a southside residence around 5:00 a.m. Upon investigation, officers determined that Georgeanna Ribbing had allegedly menaced her neighbor with a knife.

Ribbing was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. She has been charged with Menacing in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

Ribbing is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
