(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY — Cassandra A. Nickerson, 23, of Jamestown, was arrested Thursday evening following a domestic incident on the city’s northside.
At approximately 5:10 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s second platoon responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a northside residence. Upon arrival and investigation, authorities determined that Nickerson had struck the victim in the face, forcibly removed the victim’s shirt, and held the victim by the throat for an undetermined period.
Nickerson was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail. She faces charges of Assault in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. She is currently held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
