Jamestown police arrest 48-year-old Lawrence Gibbons for allegedly stealing items and damaging property at CVS.

(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A Jamestown man is facing charges after police responded to a report of larceny at the CVS located at 19 South Main Street late Friday night.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon were dispatched to the store around 11:16 p.m. on July 18, 2025, for a past-tense larceny complaint. An investigation revealed that Lawrence A. Gibbons, 48, allegedly stole merchandise and caused property damage before leaving the premises.

Officers quickly located Gibbons near the scene and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with Petit Larceny and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree.

Following standard procedure under New York State’s bail reform laws, Gibbons was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
