(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY — A Jamestown man is in custody after allegedly assaulting a woman and violating an order of protection during a domestic incident early Wednesday morning.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers responded to a domestic dispute on the city’s west side at approximately 2:13 a.m. on July 23, 2025. Upon arrival, officers located 38-year-old Michael C. Hillman, a resident of Jamestown.
Investigators determined that Hillman had physically assaulted a female victim at the scene while under a court-issued order of protection requiring him to stay away from her. Further investigation revealed that Hillman also had an active felony arrest warrant for a previous violation of the same order.
Hillman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He was charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Assault in the Third Degree, and a felony warrant for Criminal Contempt in the First Degree.
Hillman is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
