(WNY News Now) – A 21-year-old Jamestown resident was taken into custody following a domestic dispute that led to a criminal contempt charge.

JAMESTOWN – On July 27, 2025, at approximately 6:59 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon responded to a reported domestic dispute at a residence on the city’s south side.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female victim, who was engaged in a verbal argument with Makim L. Pryce, a 21-year-old city resident. During the investigation, officers discovered that Pryce was subject to a valid stay-away order of protection, which prohibited him from having contact with the victim.

Pryce was taken into custody without incident and charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor offense under New York State law for violating a court-issued order of protection.

He was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
