Police say suspect threatened victim with hammer; now faces multiple charges including menacing and weapon possession.

(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A 53-year-old Jamestown woman is facing several charges following a domestic dispute on the city’s west side Sunday evening.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers responded to a reported domestic incident at approximately 5:17 p.m. on July 27, 2025. Upon arrival, they encountered Sheri M. Hawkins, who was found to have an active bench warrant.

During the investigation, police determined that Hawkins allegedly threatened another person in the residence while holding a hammer. She was taken into custody at the scene without further incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Hawkins has been charged with Menacing in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and for the outstanding bench warrant.

She is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
